    DutiesandResponsibilities

    Thisposition is located with the Division of Hotels and Restaurants andconducts sanitation and safety inspections of hotels andrestaurants and investigations of food-borne illnesscomplaints.

  • Conducts Inspection andinspection relatedactivities.
  • Conducts regulatory,standardized inspections of public food service establishments andlodging facilities for compliance with environmental health andsanitation regulations, and other safety or sanitation-relatedareas as deemed necessary.
  • Investigates foodborne illness and environmental sanitary nuisance complaints andinvestigates & takes administrative action againstunlicensed activity. Works with other city, county and state agencyofficials to secure compliance of stateregulations.
  • Participates in the inspection andlicensing of temporary events.
  • Conducts routineinspections on iPad and prepares accurate facility inspectionreports relating to safety, sanitation and misrepresentationviolations, daily activity reports, time sheets and travelreimbursement reports.
  • Prioritizes all assignedwork according to department guidelines to insure compliance withstate laws & rules.
  • Prepares andsubmits legal documents to secure compliance through administrativeactions by following department guidelines and attends &testifies as needed in formal and informal hearings. Also deliverslegal documents in person to facility operators to secureGood Service asrequired.
  • Communicates with the district officeand supervisor as necessary orrequired.
  • Maintains Continuing Education Units,Certified Food Manager Certification, FDA standardization andFlorida drivers license.
  • Maintainsstate issued equipment in proper workingcondition.
  • Participates in meetings andtraining sessions as required.
  • Provides a highstandard of customer service.
  • Performs otherwork asrequired.

  • Knowledgeof laws and rules pertaining to sanitation and safetyinspections.
  • Experience in a variety ofinspection activities.
  • Ability to work on ateam and participate in teamactivities.
