The Department of Mechanical and Civil Engineering at Minnesota State University, Mankato invites applications for two full-time, tenure-track positions in mechanical engineering at the rank of Assistant Professor starting August 2019. The positions will be in the areas of 1) Controls and Mechatronics and 2) Solid Mechanics and Mechanical Design. The successful candidates will teach undergraduate courses and laboratories in their specialty areas as well as related foundational courses. Minnesota State University has nine accredited engineering and engineering technology programs. The Mechanical Engineering program has an emphasis on applied instruction and research with degrees at both the Bachelors and Master's level. The focus of the program is to produce graduates who are globally competitive now and in the future. Required qualifications are as follows: Earned B.S. in mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline from an ABET-accredited (or equivalent) engineering program; PhD in mechanical engineering or closely related field (ABD candidates will be considered if degree is awarded by August 2019); demonstrated teaching and/or industry experience in mechanical engineering. Priority consideration will be given to applications received by February 1, 2019.
