The Lead Electrical Engineer, Energy Storage will be responsible for supporting the full electrical scope of system design activities associated with the development of new products for Grid and off Grid Connected, as well as the projects for Energy Storage systems for GE Power.
Design grid connected energy storage systems products family for standalone and hybrid conventional and renewable power plants solutions Work closely with all NPI / product sub-systems, including the GRC teams to integrate them into the ES system ensuring high quality deliverable are met on time within the Energy Storage products scope of work Drive the design of the whole electrical sub-systems of the new products family based on evolving codes and standards through participation in industry standards groups and leading innovative approaches to equipment design Be able to perform power system load flow studies, fault studies, and transient studies using appropriate modeling software to understand and correctly apply and size the right electrical equipment Be responsible for develop the electrical procedures, documentation, user manuals, test plans and all necessary to deploy the New Products Introduction (NPI) to the Energy Storage business Work in cooperation with the rest of the NPI / product / project teams to develop procedures, documentation, user manuals, test plans and all necessary to deploy the new products introduction to the Energy Storage business Work closely with both GRC and Business test teams to perform the right system tests that involve multiple technical discipline with special focus on electrical Work with the Energy Storage business team to include the Voice of Customers into the new products design and actual design improvements Work with the Energy Storage Project team to design the new Energy Storage projects by following the project requests, understanding and translating the project and grid code electrical requirements into electrical Energy Storage design to fulfill the project / Customer needs Effectively communicate results to both internal and external customers by preparing detailed written reports or presentations describing analyses performed, solutions developed, and customer value propositions Enhance industry knowledge and present technical content in regional forums and professional society conferences; serve as a thought leader in industry activities Actively participate in a working environment where teamwork, quality, customer service and innovation are prized Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Electrical, System or Electric Power Engineering from an accredited university or college Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
The Lead Electrical Engineer, Energy Storage will work with a high skilled team to design the new energy storage products portfolio and provide the full products package to the Energy Storage business. This role will require a wide base of knowledge across electrical, both the AC and DC, power electronic and control of the system with sufficient detail to support the electrical design across the main area of the Energy Storage products design.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Ability and willingness to travel 20% of the time Desired Characteristics: Masters Degree / PhD in Electrical, Power Electronic or Power System Engineering from an accredited university or college Experience in electrical / electric power engineering, conventional or renewable power plant design / operation, transmission and distribution systems design and operation Engineering experience in electric power utilities, power equipment manufacturing, high-voltage and high-power equipment testing, or electric power projects design and construction Understanding of grid scale energy storage systems and lithium ion technology at a level of detail sufficient to support overall system design and
battery sizing activities Strong electrical design system knowledge for DC / AC and LV / MV, including protections design ad settings Understanding of the coordinated controls and protection schemes employed in MW scale battery systems and work with vendors to meet GE / customer requirements Experience with dynamic and time-domain electrical simulation tools and CAD software Working knowledge of the electrical codes and standards that apply to
large scale Energy systems globally (i.e., IEC, UL, NEC, BDEW, CEI, etc.) Excellent interpersonal communication skills (e.g., ability to
