Position Summary:
This Mechanical Engineering Project Manager position is a professional engineering position which manages, directs, and leads the activities of architects, engineers, contractors and suppliers in the delivery of construction projects. This position is responsible for a broad range of Mechanical Engineering project management functions on capital improvement projects authorized by the State of Wisconsin Building Commission. The primary responsibilities of this professional engineering position include managing complex infrastructure and facilities projects from design through construction, the review and analysis of designs prepared by outside consultants, providing technical support to state agencies, providing site inspections and troubleshooting analysis, developing and maintaining design guidelines and specifications, and developing design and bidding documents. Applicants must meet one of the following:
Registration as a Professional Engineer as determined by the Department of Safety and Professional Services, or
Graduated from a recognized college or university with a degree in an engineering field such as civil, electrical, electronic, environmental, mechanical, or structural engineering, or
Equivalent professional training and practical experience so as to be deemed a professional engineer as deemed by the Department of Safety and Professional Services

Qualifications:
Qualified applicants will have experience in:
Project management (e.g. management of budget, scope, and schedule of projects, or similar)
Technical experience with high pressure steam boiler heating plant engineering, trouble shooting, and facility evaluation
Technical experience with thermal utilities engineering, troubleshooting, and evaluation

In addition, well-qualified applicants will have experience in:
Air pollution permitting and reporting
Developing and maintaining ongoing contracts for high pressure steam heating plant(s) which may include water treatment, natural gas, emission testing and inspections and boiler inspections.
Experience with inspection and testing method procedures for Pressure Relief Devices (Safety valves), pressure vessels and piping.
Experience reading and developing valve line ups and P&ID (piping and instrumentation diagrams).
Experience in document management (e.g. developing, editing, reviewing, maintaining, or similar)
Communication skills, (e.g. developing working relationships, developing written materials, negotiation or conflict management, or similar)
